Payments made with a credit card will include an additional 3% processing fee.​

Litter & Noxious Weeds

  • NO CHARGE for litter collected from public roads and beaches. Notify the kiosk attendant before disposing and follow their instructions.

  • NO CHARGE for noxious weeds secured in bags. Notify the kiosk attendant before disposing. Ask the kiosk attendant for qualifying noxious weeds. ​​

Free Recycling & Reuse

Save money and reduce waste by sorting out recyclable items from your garbage!

​

  • Here's a complete list of items that can be recycled at Lopez Solid Waste for NO CHARGE, including: 

    • Most types of plastic bottles (clean and empty)

    • Aluminum cans

    • Steel cans

    • Glass bottles

    • Clean mixed paper (NO waxed paper, plastic-coated paper, or plastic liners)

    • Some personal electronics (NO printers, scanners, fax machines)

    • Pure steel items

    • Pure aluminum items

    • Pure brass and copper items

    • Electrical wire

  • Take It or Leave It (TIOLI) is a free exchange of reusable items, including clothes, tools, books, furniture, kitchenware, sports equipment, jewelry, and more.

  • PaintCare — On Sundays only, LSWDD accepts qualifying paint products for reuse and recycling. Limit 10 gallons per day.  

  • Annual Household Hazardous Waste Roundup — Once a year, bring 25 gallons or less of hazardous waste for safe and legal disposal at LSWDD.
