Lopez Solid Waste is a drop-box facility with limited capacity. This means all customers are responsible for ensuring that their waste goes into the appropriate containers on-site. If you’re unsure which containers to use, ask a staff member. Customers who leave garbage on the ground near containers could be subject to additional fees. 

Truck and trailer loads are charged by volume and type of material. All loads are measured and charged by the kiosk attendant. 

• $2.81 per cubic foot of common garbage 

• $5.62 per cubic foot of high-density garbage, which includes many types of C&D waste like lumber, plywood, and concrete, which cannot be compressed to make room for more garbage. 

Please do not throw any hazardous materials in the garbage! Review hazardous waste guidelines at lopezsolidwaste.org/hazardous-waste. 

Large sheets of plywood and full doors should be cut up into smaller pieces before you arrive on-site. If they are in good condition and you’d like to offer them for reuse, they should be easily removable from your load before dumping. TIOLI will not always accept items for reuse; selection depends on condition and capacity. All items should be paid for as garbage.

Pure metal or mostly-metal items can be recycled for free. If you have a mixed load, notify the kiosk attendant upon arrival. 

If possible, call ahead if you’re bringing a large load: (360) 468–2555. If the kiosk attendant doesn’t answer, you can leave a message. This can allow our staff time to compress garbage in the containers to make room for your load.
